Notification preferences

Immediate vs digest, email vs inbox, and per-org-unit controls.

Updated 5/14/2026

Notification settings control what shows up in your inbox, what gets sent to you by email, and how often. Open them at .

Channels

 • In-app inbox — always on. Every event is recorded here.
 • Email — optional per event type. Toggle independently.

Frequency

 • Immediate — each event triggers its own notification.
 • Daily digest — events are batched into a once-per-day summary email.

New matches and deadline reminders are well suited to the digest; direct messages and help responses are usually best left as immediate.

Receive by org unit

If your institution maps you to multiple departments or colleges, you can choose which units' matches you want to be notified about. Selecting a parent unit automatically includes its sub-units; you can still toggle individual sub-units on or off afterwards. Deselecting a parent removes its sub-units, but they stay individually controllable.

Why per-unit?

Faculty with cross-listed appointments often only want to hear about opportunities matched to one of their units. This keeps the firehose manageable.

Unsubscribing

Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link for that template. Critical account email (password reset, account changes) cannot be unsubscribed.
