Responding to faculty

How replies, attachments, and quick responses work — and what the faculty member sees.

Updated 5/14/2026

This page describes a feature that may not be enabled for your account.

When you respond to a help request or a signaled-interest item, your reply is delivered to the faculty member's inbox under the same thread. It also generates an email if their notification settings allow it.

Composing a reply

  • Type freely. Markdown-style formatting is supported.
  • Attach files (drafts, examples, sponsor PDFs) — they stay with the thread.
  • Use Quick responses for frequently re-used answers (eligibility, budget, internal deadlines).

Quick responses

Quick responses are short canned replies you can drop in and edit. They're great for the questions you answer over and over — your institution can curate the list from Clubhouse.

Personalize before sending

A canned reply is a starting point, not a final answer. Edit it for the specific opportunity before clicking Send.

What the faculty member sees

  • The reply appears in their inbox under the original thread.
  • Their email notification (if enabled) includes the reply text inline so they don't have to open the app to read it.
  • Attachments download from the inbox thread.

Marking resolved

When the conversation is wrapped up, mark the item Resolved. It moves out of active queues and into the resolved log, where it still feeds disposition tracking and conversion analytics.
