Disposition is the status of an opportunity within the institution's pipeline — whether someone is pursuing it, whether a proposal was submitted, whether it was funded, and so on. It's how Signal captures ROI.

Common disposition states

• Interest signaled — a faculty member has flagged it but no further action yet.
• In conversation — RD is engaged with the faculty member.
• Pursuing — actively preparing a proposal.
• Submitted — proposal has gone to the sponsor.
• Funded / Not funded — final outcome.
• Withdrawn / Not a fit — closed without submission.

Where dispositions live

Dispositions are set on the opportunity from inside Signal and feed directly into Drive's leadership analytics. The same opportunity can have different dispositions for different faculty members at the same institution.

Conversion analytics

From disposition data, the system computes conversion rates — signaled-to-pursuit, pursuit-to-submission, submission-to-funded — and surfaces those in Drive's leadership insights view.
