Data admin is where you watch and manage the platform's data pipelines — opportunity ingestion, faculty enrichment, and the AI spend that backs them.

What runs automatically

• Nightly opportunity refresh — pulls new and changed opportunities from sources like Grants.gov.
• Incremental enrichment — re-enriches only items that actually changed, keeping AI cost low.
• Match recomputation — runs after either side (faculty or opportunity) changes.

Manual actions

• Force a refresh when you've verified the source has new data and don't want to wait for the nightly run.
• Re-enrich a faculty member from their profile after a CV upload or ORCID change.
• Bulk re-enrich a department before a kickoff meeting.

Data history

Every refresh and bulk operation is logged in Data History with start time, duration, items touched, and AI cost. Use it to investigate sudden cost changes or to confirm that an overnight refresh ran cleanly.

Investigator staging

New investigators can be uploaded to a staging area for review before they go live. Staged records are enriched in place; once promoted to live data they appear in matches and analytics, and their staging record is cleared.
