What happens when you signal interest in a match — and who hears about it.

Signaling interest is the lightweight way to tell your institution's Research Development team that you're considering an opportunity. It's a single click — no formal commitment, no proposal required.
What happens when you click it
- Your interest is recorded against the opportunity and timestamped.
- Research Development staff in Signal see it on their queue.
- You receive a confirmation in your inbox and (depending on your settings) by email.
- Depending on institution configuration, an outreach email may be sent on your behalf to introduce you to a sponsor program officer.
Who sees it
- Research Development staff at your institution.
- Leadership, in aggregate analytics — never as a public list of names.
- Other faculty do not see your individual signals.
Privacy
Signaled interest is internal to your institution. It is never shared with other customers and is not visible to faculty outside your organization.
Withdrawing or changing your mind
You can change a signal at any time from the same match. Marking the opportunity Not a Fit retracts the signal and removes it from the RD queue.
Why we don't auto-signal
Signals are a deliberate action because they trigger work for your RD team. Browsing, saving, and reading match details all happen quietly — only the explicit Signal Interest action is broadcast.
